Constance Coleman Richardson was an American painter. Born in Berlin in 1905, died in Philadelphia in 2002.
She exhibited on a large scale and received numerous awards. Her work has been auctioned worldwide and is owned by museums such as the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Letters between Richardson and her husband are in the hands of the Archives of American Art.
This work comes from 1984, a period in which she played with the interaction between colours and light.
