Kingdom of Lannathai, 4 Baht silver bar Chiang Mai Chieng Money - This is a curved silver bar used as currency in the ancient Kingdom of Lanna which was located in northern Siam / Thailand. The bars are stamped with three marks. The first stamp is the number ‘4’ which denotes the value/weight of 4 Baht (a little over 60 grams) also called a tamlung or tumlung. The second middle stamp is the city mint mark and the third is the royal mark indicating the reign or assayer. This particular piece is from the capital of Chiang Mai.
