Remo Tamagnini, Reggio Emilia (1911-1983). After attending the “Gaetano Chierici” royal drawing school for workers and the Scuola Libera del Nudo, he was forced to leave for Africa, where the Eritrean War was being fought. When he came back to Reggio Emilia, he participated in several competitions and group exhibitions together with Carlo Bazzani, Gino Gandini, Lanfranco Scorticati, Giannino Tamagnini and other painters from Reggio of the time. In 1940 he opened his first studio. In 1968 he had a brief but intense experience at Atelier-Beta, a school of nude and figure from life opened with the younger Luciano Bertoli. Remo Tamagnini didn’t hold solo exhibitions during his life, also of his own volition. One year after his death, in 1984, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia paid homage to him with an anthological exhibition in the room of Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo.
