These are 3 bales of Metis linen ,which is a cotton and linen mixture.
The weft is linen and the warp is cotton.
Widely used in the early 1900s for making bedlinen, serviettes, tea towels,and table linen.
Not much has changed since and it is still available, but now made up in the afore mentioned articles.
it is a extraordinary sturdy fabric and has multi usages.
I suppose you can make also curtains out of it.
There 3 in fact 3 pieces each measuring 3m20 in length by 2m40 in width.
