In the middle of the 20th century, Judit Nádor (1934-2016) was one of the leading designers at the famous Pécs porcelain factory, Zsolnay.
Judit Nádor has become famous for his very particular cubist and primitivist style.
His porcelains are exhibited in the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest.
This piece dates back to the 1960s.
This porcelain is glazed with blue iridescent eosin, using a patented process created by chemist Wartha Vince (1844-1914), which made Zsolnay famous worldwide.
The piece shows two superficial cracks on the enamel (one behind the head and one on the left side) which however do not affect its crisp completeness.
