Colourful majolica lidded pot by the Italian-Dutch ceramist Luigi de Lerma.
De Lerma ( Reggio Emilia 1907 - Utrecht 1965 ) studied majolica technique in Faenza. He worked for Sophie Van Stolk-van der Does de Willebois in Vietri and married here in 1934.
They settled in Groenekan, The Netherlands, in 1934 and started a pottery.
The lidded pot that is offered here was made between 1926 and 1928 and is typical for the early work of De Lerma.
It is 34 cm tall. It has a circumference of 25 cm at the widest point. Signed ‘LD tc’ (techno ceramiste).
In very good condition. Without restorations.
