Very beautiful and old version of the Butterfly chair. Designed by the well-known Arne Jacobsen for the Danish furniture maker Fritz Hansen. This chair is made of wood without veneer, which is already quite unique, and is treated with wood glaze. The chair is in a very beautiful condition considering the age. The seat backrest has no cracks. As can be seen on the photo, it is in a very beautiful condition. The legs are nickel-plated and not chrome-plated, the floor caps have been replaced by original new ones. This chair is a very early version and therefore also has the old seat height. Which was altered after approx. 1960. The cover of the chair is made of metal which is characteristic of the earlier versions. After the war, Danish furniture became very popular with other countries and meets the ideas of the new age. This head start allowed Fritz Hansen to grow into a global brand. One of the most important designers who contributed to this is Arne Jacobsen. The Ant (ant) and the series 7 chair made of curved plywood set the standard for the modern chair. It is a milestone for Fritz Hansen and Scandinavian design. Many more successes will follow and this has made Fritz Hansen the leader for over 100 years. The chair must be picked up near Amsterdam.
