So-called Armada Chest, very probably from Germany, with decorated lock plate and a red intermediate lid. The chests are characterized by the intricate lock behind the lock plate.
This large chest or safe for important documents and valuable items such as jewellery and cash can be locked with the supplied key through the keyhole on top of the chest. In addition, it is possible to attach two additional locks using the rings and padlocks at the front. One of these rings has broken off, is included and can be welded tight again if you wish. The padlocks are missing.
These types of chests were used, for instance, by officers at sea. They were bolted to the deck of the owner's cabin.
The object is in good condition, especially for its age, with signs of old age. The pictures give a good depiction of the condition the object is in. The weight is an estimation.
Due to the size of the object, pick up in DELFT, the NETHERLANDS, is preferred. Shipment is possible, however. The shipping costs are an estimation due to the heavy weight and are carried out in consultation.
