The Daimler upgrades:
Based on the Jaguar MK II. The Daimler 2.5 V8 was released in 1962. Responsible for the design were William Lyons (bodywork) and Edward Turner (engine). The base was similar to the Jaguar however Daimler used a 2.5 litre V8 engine and it was only available with an automatic transmission until 1967. In terms of looks, the visible difference was the ribbed grille on the front. It only had one change until 1967, the Borg-Warner Type 35 gearbox was replaced by the Borg-Warner D1/D2 type gearbox in 1964. A small facelift was carried out in 1967, the bumper narrowed and the model was renamed V8 250. Production stopped in 1969.
