This Mercedes-Benz 280 SE was actually the first S-Class from Mercedes, a limousine with a lot of luxury and driving comfort.

This barn find is completely original, the bodywork is very neat but has a few dents, the brakes were stuck and do need a tune up.

This fairly rare 4.5L V8 was developed for the US market and only had two owners. The last owner parked the car in a shed for 20 years. Hence, the extremely low mileage of 76,000 original miles.

The bottom is very solid, no rust or other major problems. Only the front sides of the sills with the connection to the front screens have some rust. This is not difficult to repair.

The chrome is very neat.

The black interior is completely neat, the dashboard and the instruments are in one piece without traces of wear. Only the woodwork, which is real wood, could do with a coat of varnish.

This is a true barn find! After a thorough cleaning we got the 280 SE 4.5L running again:
- New battery
- All fuel hoses are new
- New petrol pumps fitted
- Fuel tank ultrasonically cleaned and repaired
- Radiator repaired

It has a USA Title with all import papers. Import duties paid.

There is also an original Mercedes-Benz ´Teile Buch´ which alone is worth a few hundred euros.

This Mercedes 280 SE with the amazing 4.5 engine is really something for the hobbyist.
