Francisco de Asís Planas Doria (Sabadell, December 6th, 1879 - Barcelona, December 29th, 1955) was a Catalan post-impressionist painter.

His first master in Sabadell was Joan Vila Cinca. Later, he studied in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, and in the Escola de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi (Palco) in Barcelona, with the masters Josep Calbó and Antoni Caba. He completed his studies in Brussels. During the first years he combined the family business with painting. In 1921 he exhibited for the first time together with anther painter in the Saló Sierra of Barcelona, and in 1926 he held for the first time a solo exhibition in the Sala Parés of Barcelona. In 1931 he abandoned his commercial activity in order to dedicate himself exclusively to painting, until his death in 1955.

In 1921 he obtained two prices in the contest “Barcelona vista pels seus artistas”. In 1935 he obtained the Premio de Honor at the Salón de Otoño in Madrid. In 1936 he was appointed president of the Real Círculo Artístico of Barcelona, an in 1942 vice-president of the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña. After the Civil War (1936-1939) he joined as an artist the Junta de Obras of the Basílica del Pi of Barcelona for its reconstruction. In 1946 the Sabadell City Council awarded him with the Silver Medal of the City.
