One-of-a-kind decorative wooden panel with Chinese decoration, dating back to the first half of the 20th century. The panel bears a date (8-7-41) and a signature (T.C. Toon).
On the back, besides the manufacturer’s stamp (Burton Upon Trent) there is also a label featuring the title and a detailed description of the work.
Initially, I had dated the panel to the first half of the 1800s but after doing some research I found out that in Burton Upon Street lived a Thomas Charles Toon, born on April 18, 1869 who in his life also dealt with decoration of ceramics and Chinese painting. I am almost certain it is the same T.C.Toon.
