Emile Gallé became an prominent ambassador of crystal in France and abroad, following the 1889 Universal Exhibition. He was the founder of the Ecole de Nancy in 1901. His keen interest in technology and his variations on decorative themes have made him an authority in the field.
Awarded the Grand Prize at the Universal Exhibition in 1889, the Universal Exhibition in Chicago in 1893, the Decorative Art Exhibition in Nancy in 1894 and the Munich Exhibition in 1897.
Created the École de Nancy in 1901 with Victor Prouvé, Louis Majorelle, Antonin Daum and Eugène Vallin, of which he became president.
Participated in the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Turin. in 1902.
