Antique Japanese hira-zukuri koto o-tanto. The blade was forged by one of the Kunimitsu sword smiths in the Muromachi period (1333-1573) and signed "Kunitmitsu". The blade has good old polish and has fine scratches, "itame hada" , "suguha/gunome" hamon with deep temper in the point, "ubo nakago" (not shortened). The blade has no chips or bends and the "cutting edge" is very sharp. Length nagasa (cutting edge): 29.4 cm, "motogasane": 0.5 cm, "motohaba": 2.6 cm, sori: 0.3 cm, total length in shirasaya: 49 cm.
