Vase - Cloisonné enamel, fine silver wire - Animal, Flowers - Japan - ca. 1890-1900 (Meiji period)
Vase with a refined shape, crafted with fine silver wire to set the polychrome cloisonné enamels on the red background, representing a Ryu dragon in relief that wraps around the vase. Ginbari technique used only on the red background with the translucent enamels showing a thin layer of finely decorated metal.
Meiji period, late 19th century.
Condition: Good - no restorations - crazing lines around the neck of the vase and small chip measuring 3 mm, almost invisible - see photos.
