Collector choice fossil.
Very nice prepration and amazing fossilization of the yellow calcite shell.
Very rare endemic trilobite species known only from Baltoscandia Middle Ordovician deposits. Here is Rhinoferus kolenkoi (Schmidt, 1898). This particular species is very interesting with its swelled glabella having the horn-like outgrowth close to posterior part and the long genal spines (might be a weapon against predators).
The trilobite was found in the Middle Ordovician (Dapingian) , Volkhov stage deposits of Putilovo quarry near St Petersburg, Russia.
Size of the trilobite is 8 cm long measured along the curve (good size for this genus!), reconstruction is 1-2%
The specimen will be wired inside a box to avoid any impact.
