Ford Capri 1700 GT XL, first series, first year, red exterior and interior from factory, matching numbers. The first owner acquired this car in October 1969 in Switzerland, later in 1986 it was imported to Spain, where, after 2 years of service, it stood still for 30 years. In 2017, a new owner restored it completely. The following works were carried out during the restoration in 2017: • Complete reconstruction of the original engine: cylinder head (machining, new valve guides, new valve seats, new valves and custom screws). New piston and crankshaft bushings. New fuel, oil and water pump. New alternator and starter. Complete service of the electrical system. New Sinenblocks, new exhaust manifolds. New carburettor 29/36 to improve fuel consumption and acceleration. New complete fuel lines. Rebuilt fuel tank. All new joints and bearings throughout the engine block. Reconstruction of the original radiator. All new coolant pipes and hoses. New clutch. • Complete reconstruction of both axles: 4 new bearings, all new brake lines and hoses, new rear brake shoes, new front brake pads, new rear brake pumps, new master cylinder, complete service and sealing of the rear axle. • Complete work on the bodywork, although it is not perfect, it is a very decent job, new left rear wing. Underbody: New rust prevention treatment at the bottom and in the most critical areas. 100% rust-free (car from southern Spain). Ford Red 65 (Hell Rot) original colour combination with matte black bonnet, tail and side skirts. The paint is in good condition, as shown in the pictures, but it may need some polishing and a better finish in some parts to achieve a top condition. The car may need new chrome on the rear bumper and some other minor external details. • Original XL interior in red. The red exterior and interior red option was not available in the catalogue. This combination is registered on the vin plate, and it makes this car unique as it was ordered as such to the factory. The synthetic leather interior was handcrafted, using the original seats, of better quality than any Internet cover. Red carpet on the floor and interior door panels in red. The perforated synthetic leather on the headlining is original from factory and it was restored. The interior rear-view mirror is the original from 1969. The original leather of the steering wheel has been restored. The central console includes the original VDO clock. The dashboard is upholstered with Alcantara-like fabric. Some original parts have been restored instead of using replicas in order to maintain originality. The last vehicle inspection (Spanish ITV) was without a single flaw. This vehicle never had a crash, and is 100% rust-free. The underbody is clean and has been treated with protection against oxidation. Original registration document from 1986 in Spanish. Original import documents in Spanish, from 1986. Copy of the original key set (in very poor condition). A new set will be provided.
