Rare beautiful original Tramp Art box from New York - USA, around 1890.
Tramp Art is an art form that was especially in fashion in the years 1870-1940. It is mainly an American art genre in which small pieces of wood, mainly from discarded shipping crates and boxes for cigars, are placed in layers of geometric shapes, the outside edges of each layer have been cut or presented like a pinecone. It is built layer by layer by processing the wood with a pocket knife until an interesting structure is created.
It requires a lot of precision and creativity. The little box is made of a wooden box from a manufacturer that makes the finest products of corn and had its factory in New York. This can be seen on the inside of the box.
