Christoffel van Sichem II (1580-1658) - Dutch School
Born in Basel and died in Amsterdam Wood engraver who signed his work with a twisted cVs. Under the influence of the Haarlem mannerists. Christopher had been a pupil of Goltzius for some time. The work of Van Sichem is interesting due to the combination of the early masters (Durer - Van Leyden) in combination with the Goltzius school influence, and his own sublime interpretation in the medium of woodcut.
